The Footprints Vision …

12:46 pm Reading, Updates, Writing

Today I want to share a little something I wrote yesterday, at the Lord’s prompting. This is the Scripture which He laid on my heart: Habakkuk 2:2 NKJV “Write the vision and make it plain … that they may run who read it”.

So dear reader, may God make it plain what YOUR role is in making the Footprints vision come to pass!

I SEE a magazine that is like a warm hug to our readers. A magazine that feels like a very special family of friends. A magazine that meets each reader right where they are at; yet at the same time doesn’t leave them there: as it challenges them to grow, explore, and become more … to develop and blossom into the woman God has called them to be.

I see a magazine that is “owned” by its readers. A magazine that recognises that every woman has a story; a story that will not only help others when shared, but that will help the one sharing to realise the hand of God in her life, and the immense value He sees in her.

I see a magazine where experienced and novice writers alike find a place to share their faith, their thoughts, their skills, their challenges, their solutions, and much more.

I see a solid foundation of a network of supporters across Australia and New Zealand doing what they can to bring the Footprints vision to pass, by using the gifts and talents God has placed in their lives. I see prayer warriors interceding on behalf of the magazine, the workers and the readers, that God would move mightily through each page, article and issue, that lives would be touched.

I see a growing stable of dependable writers with solid spiritual foundations, and representatives in various states and towns who have caught the Footprints vision and are “making it plain”, facilitating the promotion and distribution of Footprints in their area.

I see a magazine that is ethical and accountable in its book-keeping and administrative practices.

I see many labourers gathering together in unity. I see new ideas and new excitement! I see new and fruitful partnerships with other organisations.

I see a magazine that is not valued lightly or thrown aside; a magazine that does not end up in the trash. Rather, I see a magazine where each new issue is highly anticipated by readers, savoured, enjoyed, reflected on, treasured, and referred to again and again, or passed on to nourish others. A magazine that is gladly received by the hands of those who really need it and read it, into prepared soil, not scattered willy-nilly.

I see a magazine that celebrates every woman, no matter their age and stage of life. A magazine that recognises and helps to pass on the hard won wisdom of those mature in the faith, in true Titus 2 style. A magazine that has REAL women on the cover, and illustrations that support this view of womanhood, rather than unrealistic ideals of women and beauty.

I see a magazine that is appealing to look at, and a delight to hold. Something that is proudly displayed, and given to others with confidence.

I see a magazine that promotes, supports and encourages Australian Christians in ministry and business.

I see a magazine that is a trusted source of information for its readers.

I see a magazine that is affordable, yet sustainable, and given freely to those eager to receive it, yet not in a position to pay for it.

I see a magazine that strives to constantly improve in quality. A magazine that is enjoyed by women of every – or no – denomination. A magazine that celebrates the 90% that unites us as Christians, rather than the 10% that divides.

I see a magazine that is in demand! I see a magazine that is recognised for offering positive reading, that is sought after and given away by churches, women’s groups, schools, doctor surgeries, hairdressers, counselling services and more. A magazine that churches in particular would see the great boost and encouragement that comes packaged in each issue, and is used as a tool and resource to enhance their ministry to women.

I see a magazine that will only grow in circulation and supporters and readers as God blesses it.

I see a magazine with content that is God-focussed and God-inspired, beneficial yet enjoyable.

I see a magazine that is talked about, and used to inspire Bible studies and discussion in families and small groups.

I see a magazine that deals with real life. I see a magazine where the content is so pertinent and helpful, extra copies of each issue are requested to be shared and spread around to others.

I see a magazine that adapts and changes as needed, but never departs from the solid ground of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I see a magazine that endures.

I see a magazine that brings glory to God, a magazine that will bear much fruit for His Kindgom. A magazine that will encourage readers to try God for themselves. A magazine that will encourage readers to step out in faith; and brings renewed focus on God in their busy lives. A magazine that whispers of God’s love to each reader.

I see a magazine that clearly reveals to each woman her need of a Saviour, and that the time to make a choice is NOW. A magazine that shows that God is waiting to welcome them with open arms. A magazine that draws even the most hardened or lukewarm heart closer to God. A magazine that brings healing and hope, refreshment, enthusiasm, and better relationships – a love for God, for themselves, and for others! I see a magazine that breathes life into its readers, breaks bondages and brings clarity.

I see a magazine that burns in the heart of each reader, filling them with a warming glow. That while the printing may fade, and the paper may perish, that the message inside will last forever.

I see a magazine that is different to any other. Unique. Loved. Precious. Treasured. Life-changing!

I see a magazine that delights and captivates. I see a magazine that is what God wants. I see ….
