4:08 pm Calling, Chit-chat, God's will, Updates

My hubby and I have invented our own definition for the word “inspiration” … it’s something that “inspires irrational thoughts”! But sometimes, they’re not as irrational as you’d think. It’s when you set your mind and dreams free that new possibilities begin to glimmer and doors start to open …
On Friday I had the pleasure of popping in on two very different friends. They are both lovely Christian ladies, but the similarities end there.
Rhonda is our women’s pastor and I look up to her as a mentor, as we work together on the women’s ministries team at our church. She got married the year I was born!
Rochelle is a writing buddy, and mum to two tiny tots (a boy, nearly 3, and a girl, 6 months), who also runs not one, but two small businesses from home!
I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed our time together on Friday. Rhonda was my sounding board for a big decision that is looming in my life, and God used her to confirm the way I should go. Together, we realised that “Footprints” is my calling and that I should make my decision based on whether it will ultimately help, or hinder, this ministry.
Rochelle on the other hand knows more about publishing than I do and was able to give me some great ideas for growing Footprints, and encouraged me to dream big. She asked me some very thought-provoking questions – what were my plans for Footprints? Did I want it to grow. At first, I didn’t know how to answer her – I want what God wants, but I wasn’t sure what His thoughts were. So she asked me another question: What was my motivation for doing Footprints?
Well, that was easy to answer! To bless, encourage and strengthen Aussie Christian women - same as it was back when it all started 12 years ago.
Rochelle helped me to realise that God’s will would be for as many women as possible to be blessed, encouraged and strenghtened – it is His desire that Footprints continue to grow.
Needless to say, all this has inspired LOTS of irrational thoughts and some very out-there ideas – and a lot of it is way beyond anything *I* could ever hope to achieve. But past experience has taught me that if God wants it, it will happen somehow, somewhere, sometime …
I’m excited about what the future holds for Footprints!
Our God is able to do immeasurably more than we hope for or imagine…
Can’t wait to see what He has in store for Footprints (and for you).
