Behind the scenes at Footprints magazine

Honour – and disappointment …

6:35 pm Updates

Last year I was thrilled and delighted to receive a letter advising that I had been nominated for the 2009 edition of Who’s Who of Australian Women, for my contribution in “matters of faith and religion”.

Sadly, today I received a letter advising that after careful consideration, I didn’t make the cut. I’m not really surprised though, as when I looked up a past edition of the Who’s Who I found it celebrates the achievements of politicians, academics, sporting legends, actresses, judges, television presenters, company executives and other high profile women. Way out of my league!!!!

But you know what? I’m still happy! What an honour to be recognised for doing Footprints. Yes, I love it – but it IS a lot of work, running a magazine and all that involves. So it’s nice to know that somebody out there showed their appreciation by nominating me for this award. I have no idea who it was, but THANK YOU. Just being nominated means the world to me!

Janet Moore CamilleriI don’t do Footprints to earn the praise of men (or in this case, women!). As Colossians 3:23 says: Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. Nevertheless, I’m human and have to admit I love to receive positive feedback – it definitely helps to spur me on – so thanks again to that unknown person, who truly lived out Hebrews 10:24, by spurring me on to continue in love and good deeds!

PS The photo shows me with the last award I received … my Diploma of Teaching way back in 1987!
