Turn your Misery into your Ministry

Issue #41 (Autumn 2008) is nearly ready to head to the printers, not long now and each member of the Footprints Team will be able to boast “I was a cover model on a magazine”!

My favourite article in this new edition would have to be “Turn your Misery into Your Ministry” … okay maybe I’m a little bit biased, because I wrote it! Seriously though, I interviewed three truly amazing women for this piece - Bronwen Healy, former prostitute & heroin addict (www.trophyofgrace.com); Amanda Axelby, who reaches out to women mourning a miscarriage or stillbirth (www.griefandgrace.net); and “Lana”, who has been a patient in a psychiatric ward more than once, where she saw a need in the lives of other patients even when at her lowest ebb, and was motivated to do something about it! It’s my prayer that you will be as inspired as I was by these wonderful real-life women and their stories.

Speaking of prayer, please join us in asking for God’s special anointing over this new issue. For the first time we will have an article on abortion, which is obviously a very difficult subject. Please pray that it will be helpful and not hurtful; compassionate, not condemning.

On the lighter side, “The Cutting Corners Guide to Housework” is packed with tips guaranteed to bring a smile to your face … don’t tell anybody, but I had actually put some of these ideas into practice long before I read the article! (Well how else would I find the time to do Footprints??!) Plus we have another reader sharing her close encounter of the spider kind in “Arachnophobia” …
